Sightings of Cryptids Other Than Bigfoot

Big Cats in Michigan

The DNR have been adamant for years that there are no large, cougar type, cats in Michigan despite the several reports coming in from all over the state.

My personal sighting was while my wife and I were returning home from watching our grandson, Dylan, play a little league baseball game, in Alamo, Michigan. I had stopped at a 'STOP' sign, waiting to turn left onto another road. As my wife and I sat there, I spotted a cat-like creature (shown in the picture below) crossing a cleared corn field. I drove to the shoulder of the road and stopped to take pictures of the creature. It was black, with a large white-ish marking on its left side that I could not determine to be color or a type of mange and t was quite large, at least  4 to 5 feet from its nose to the base of its tail and another 2 to three feet in tail length, for an overall length of 6 to 8 feet. One thing that struck me as being odd about the beast was what appeared to be a massive shoulder area it appeared to have.  It was nearing dusk as we sat and observed this creature slowly walking across the field. I estimate the distance to be about 90 to 100 yards away, which GOOGLE Earth would later show to be slightly further than that based upon the distance where my car sat to a drop off in the field's elevation just to the other side of the creature. Some of the the additional pictures I've posted here have been lightened for better viewing and I have included the original pictures, as well. I returned the next day to take some pictures of any prints that I might find. I did find a few and i used my shoe for size comparison. I wear a size 9 extra wide.
